Mid 2019 is when late 2010s culture started slowly dying with many 2010s franchises ending. 2019 still leans late 2010s overall, but no longer peak late 2010s culturally. I also believe the fake early 2020s era began mid 2019 and lasted till early 2020 when COVID blew up with lockdowns. May 2019 the turning point tbh, whenever the month Game of Thrones ended u could feel it in the air

May 2019 the turning point tbh, whenever the month Game of Thrones ended u could feel it in the air Agreed. Would you say as early as January 2019, you could feel change in the air? To me 2019 already felt distinct from 2017 and 2018 when the year kicked off. I made a post on here in November/ December 2019 that 2020 a 9/11 type event was going to happen in January and everyone would know what it would be by January. Turns out Covid happened. This was based on data from several astrology videos. Even if you don't believe in it, still crazy something huge was announced in January. But as for January 2019 I knew a shift was coming in 2020 regardless and 2019 just had some minor adjustments to change the plates.

But as for January 2019 I knew a shift was coming in 2020 regardless and 2019 just had some minor adjustments to change the plates. I'm into astrology and I find it eerily interesting. I also remembered a plane crash killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter (RIP) and all other passengers on board on Sunday, January 26, 2020. What I find strange is that January 2020 shared the same calendar as August 2001. Aaliyah (RIP) also died in a plane crash with other passengers on Saturday, August 25, 2001. On September 11, 2001, the worst attack on US soil takes place since Pearl Harbor. On March 11, 2020, COVID is declared a pandemic. 2020 is also a symmetrical even number. I also had that sinking feeling about 2020 in 2019, but more so that by that fall. Something about 2019 felt final, like a "Enjoy these moments while you can and make the most of them because who knows when you will get do this again." Going out that year felt extra special. I had dreams of me dying in early 2019 before turning 21.

Throughout human history, decades like the 2010s with long stretches of relative peace, economic prosperity, and progress are rare. When they happen, things typically tend to overcorrect in the following era. This happened in the 1930s and its happening today.
I had that same feeling in 2019. I sensed something big and terrible was coming but didn't know what.

If COVID never happened, 2020 probably would be late 2010s in all but name.

yeah 2019 had this weird vibe of "why are things so peaceful ?" "what is the catch ? " Those are the thoughts I had throughout 2019. They only increased as the year went on. Those feelings were at their peak that 4th quarter. Fridays at my community college were ho-hum, quiet and peaceful, which is the vibe I’d describe of 2019. It was quite eery in hindsight. In late 2019, 21 year old me would roam the halls every Friday bored waiting until my work meeting began trying to kill time. Plus by that point, a lot of people who I knew or worked with, transferred or left. Late 2019 is also when I started to get tired of being in community college. I still like 2019 and is my favorite year because of personal life, but I’ll admit that late 2010s culture already felt long in the tooth by the 2nd quarter. Community college became long in the tooth for me that 4th quarter. At that point I was in community college for 3 years since early 2016 when I was 17 going on 18. 2019 kind of felt empty like it didn’t know where to take pop culture after major 2010s franchises ended. 2000-2001 school year kind of had the same vibe as 2019 tbh lol Long in the tooth and nothing major happening lol

If COVID never happened, 2020 probably would be late 2010s in all but name. True it would’ve been more like how 2000 was. To be fair 2020 was Trump’s final year in office and the PS5 wasn’t out for most of that year. The PS5 didn’t make a dent when it came out in November 2020. Sure Biden got elected that month, but he didn’t become president until January 2021. In 2020, politics and gaming were still in the late 2010s. Yea but, the PS5 still hasn't made much of a dent as the shortages are still going strong. I don't think the 9th generation of gaming will kick off until late 2022.

The economy either would not have crashed or would have experienced a mild recession like what the U.S. experienced starting at the end of 2000. Trump's trade policies were well on their way to causing a recession, but it would have been absolutely nothing like this depression that is currently ongoing.

Yea but, the PS5 still hasn't made much of a dent as the shortages are still going strong. I don't think the 9th generation of gaming will kick off until late 2022. You’re right. PS5 is still experiencing shortages because of silicone shortages. Yeah I was thinking 9th generation gaming won’t kick off until 2023 or 2024. Late 2022 also seems likely. I guess gaming is also still in the late 2010s. I want a new gaming PC but I'm trying to put it off another couple of years because it's just so expensive now if you can even find good hardware period. I'm still running one from 2015 that had Windows 7 on it when I first built it. This is the longest I've gone without upgrading my computer.

I remember predicting a recession under Trump around 2019 and 2020. If not for COVID, the early 2020s recession would’ve been mild like that of the early 2000s. Unfortunately for COVID, I can see this recession, now depression, lasting until around the mid to late 2020s, with lasting damaging effects even into the 2030s. I agree. I don't think the economy comes back full steam until the 2030s. 1980s-born Millennials like myself are completely ruined for life.

The best bet you'll have is a prebuilt for $1,000 with a GTX 1660 Super. Not great value but it's the best you can get unless you have $250 or so more, maybe. This shortage will last for a long time to come, I don't see prices coming down until about 2023, maybe even up to 2025 considering how bad this is getting.
