I could go on. You had so many 00s sounding songs coming out during this timeframe. Even some of the electropop at the time felt like proto early 10s electropop with noticeable late 00s influence. It wasn't until summer that year when 00s influence in music just suddenly died out that it felt like a new era of music truly began.

Isn't Jai Ho more 2008-09 school year? It peaked in the spring of 2009.
Anyway, I don't disagree, but there were many songs transitioning to the early 10s such as Bad Romance and Tik Tok. I think this song right here is the the most early 2010s from the school year despite Akon being the feature.

In the United States, the song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number seventy five on December 19, 2009. It rose to number eleven on the chart more than two months later on March 27, 2010 In Canada, the song debuted on the Canadian Hot 100 at number thirty-six, being the week's second highest debut behind Jason Derulo's "In My Head".[22] I t fell to number seventy-six in the following week.

Didn't hear it on Kiss at all during this time, and if it did get air play it had to fall off fast, I did hear the Katy Perry song with Timbaland on the radio tho, that is like the only buzzed single from Shock Value 2, well that and the Miley song he did.

Idk. There were 00s hangovers but I feel like the 2010s started early musically. By the end of that school year, songs like “TikTok”, “Bad Romance, “Sexy Chick”, and “Break Your Heart” were all popular and they scream 2010s. Drake, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj all being popular makes it even more 10s to me

Damn. When I start to really think about it, the 2009-2010 school year (my 2nd grade year) was more late 00s in the musical department. Like, we had artists in their peak like Lil Wayne & Jay Sean as well as rising stars like Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Justin Bieber, who despite being moreso fresh faces who would define the 10s still had a late 00s sound in that school year.
Like, these music videos from 2009-10 are also pretty late 00s:
You know, I wasn't sure if 2009-10 was leaning late 2000s. I generally still thought it leaned early 2010s (it probably does in other aspects), or probably 50/50 (as that makes the most sense), but seeing this post, I think you convinced me on that this school year leaned late 2000s, at least musically for sure.

Most of the hits of that school year was more late 2000s. To be fair, 2009-2010 had a strong late 2000s influence (so did 2010-2011 but that school year leans early 2010s for sure) so I could understand that but I didn't know that many songs were on the earlier side of the electropop era. Further proves that electropop era = Late 2000s AND Early 2010s rather than just the Early 2010s.
