Exactly. And because of that it leans towards the 00s. Far removed from the first half but still leans more towards the 00s than the 10s. kind of leans early 2010s when we get past the summer, Late 2008 + kind has a little bit of the DNA Well yeah, late 2009 was when it started feeling more early 10s. By the time I gotta feeling was popular it was safe to say the early 10s had begun.

This thread is extremely toxic and making people repeat arguments they have already had, encouraging drama and bullying between members. This thread should be locked. I’ve reported it to sharksfan and rainbow as unacceptable. Nobody should participate in this thread unless they want to behave like school children.

That 2009 is either 100% 2000s or 2010s. That the 2010s culturally started in late 2008. That late 2012 was more mid 2010s than early 2010s. 1980s were consistent and 1980 leaned culturally 80s. That 2014 was more early 2010s than mid. >That 2009 is either 100% 2000s or 2010s. I'd say it's about 60% 00s 40% 10s >That the 2010s culturally started in late 2008. Never understood that either. The political changes that it started weren't brought to fruition until the following year and the pop culture was overwhelmingly late 00s. >That late 2012 was more mid 2010s than early 2010s. Late 2012 has a strong mid 10s precursor vibe although it was still obviously early 10s. The last point, I agree with. You can feel some mid 2010s vibes creeping in late 2012. What I don’t understand is how some people think it’s completely mid 2010s.

When people call anything from the 2000s the “early 2000s” even if it’s from like 2008 The idea that the late 00s aren’t the “real 00s” The idea that 2016 is the last core 10s year I actually saw a comment on TikTok calling 2013 the early 2000s 💀

that 2019 is entirely and completely different from today I've come to believe that depends on whether you are an introvert or an extravert. Introverts have had a much easier time with the pandemic.

Introverts have had a much easier time with the pandemic. my dude everyone my age was out doing stuff during the pandemic. teen culture barely changed. i agree there were many changes that the pandemic brought but pop culturally it’s really not much different lol. maybe if i was 30 years old and long out of college my opinion would be different

The fact that late 2009 is considered 100% early 2010s, or the 2009 in general just because of a new president.
The fact that 2020 is considered culturally 100% 2020s just because of COVID (most retarded shit I've heard, moreso on inthe00s)
That late 2012 was leaning toward the mid 2010s when it was clearly still early 2010s but just had the first signs of new emerging mid 2010s culture
That 2017 and even 2018 (at least the majority of it) was not core 2010s.
That the 90s ended in 2004.

What I don’t understand is how some people think it’s completely mid 2010s. Late 2012 had a completely different vibe from late 2013 even though there were things like indie pop and instagram already back then. It still had quite a 00ish vibe even if the culture at the time was mainly 10s. This completely disappeared throughout 2013 to make way for the mid 10s.

2019 is exactly like today because... pop music, and using pop music to judge everything about a time. Talking about specific "transition" years when every year has transitions, some years like 2001, 2008, 2016 and 2020 had actual shifts so not including them. People talking about how there’s patterns in certain year dates. Someone made a post about female artists and the 8th year of every decade. Literally how did you even come up with that one. What does that have anything to do with the other ?

It’s made people more weary of germs and getting sick kinda like how people used to see only Chinese people wear face masks everywhere even in the states but now even Americans do it. If anything I think the 2010s were the last reckless decade. The 2020s everybody is more conscious about what they do or even post online or go out into the streets.

And oh my god the fucking "the 90s ended in 2004" people are the dumbest people of all time. I can see the people who say it ended on 9/11, because it really didn't feel like the 2000s yet, but come on, you're telling me 2003 for example was a 90s year? When everybody was playing PS2, listening to Avril Lavigne, and watching Newgrounds animations? Nah bruh.
