How did pop punk blow up in 2021? 🤔 There's like literally only 2 or 3 punk songs in the charts right now.. It just started. It only started getting mainstream attention in 2021. It MAY blow up in the mid 2020s though. We'll see. Olivia Rodrigo, MGK and other pop punk artists were really popular last year. I heard their music everywhere I went last year. I also heard pop punk starting to be used in commercials. So yes pop punk blew up in 2021, after being underground from late 2018 through 2020. I think pop punk will get more popular in 2022 and into some of 2023. Pop punk might start to decline at some point in 2023 through mid 2024. By late 2024, pop punk will most likely not be popular anymore. It didn't blow up what are you talking about? You only names three singers.. And only one or two hits made the Billboard Hot 100. How is that the definition of "blowing up"? It only just started. Nowhere near "blowing up".

Nowhere near "blowing up". Billboard Hot 100 isn't the only medium of determining how popular a certain music genre is. this lol, it actually feels inaccurate a lot... Nowadays what's popular is a lot more subjective than what's playing on the radio because of streaming. Spotify and Apple charts are a lot more accurate.
