Which core 2010s artists do you think were the spiritual successor(or at least the closest to one) of core 2000s artists back then?
Example:
Imagine Dragons is the Nickelback of the 2010s.
Justin Bieber is the Justin Timberlake of the 2010s.

I feel like the Justin Bieber of the 2000s would've been some overexposed pop singer that gets made fun of A LOT

Somewhat related but Baby Shark is totally the Axel F - Crazy Frog of the 2010s

Lady Gaga = Britney Spears Twenty One Pilots = Linkin Park Tyler the Creator = Eminem Silento = Souija Boy One Direction = Jonas Brothers I was going to say Lady Gaga is Britney Spears but only because their the big superstars that blew up in the last two years of the 90s and 00s respectively and changed pop. Their image as well as their sound couldn't be more different. But a comparison can still be made, they're both a once in a decade music phenomenon. Twenty One Pilots as Linkin Park? Eh, maybe? Linkin Park were a lot more popular and their sound was completely different but then again there aren't many popular rock bands in the 10s to compare to the 00s so I see where you're coming from. I disagree with Tyler the Creator being the new eminem but I agree with your last two points. Esp Silento being Souja Boy. That terrible rap dance song from 2015 is the Crank That Soulja Boy of the 2010s but like 1000 % worse and makes me want to run into the nearest knife.

I said Tyler the Creator is the new Eminem mostly due to him being an “edgy” rapper.

This is how i see it
Adele → Amy Winehouse
Twenty One Pilots → Panic at the disco/Fall Out Boys
Ariana Grande → Gwen Stefani
Fifth Harmony → The Pussycat dolls
Ed Sheeran → James Blunt
Jesus Derulo → Chris Brown
Nicki Minaj → Lil Kim
Demi Lovato → Christina Aguilera
Carly Rae Jepsen → Vanessa Carlton
Drake → Eminem (Biggest rapstar of their respective decades) but their personality and music couldn't be any different
Taylor Swift → Britney Spears (huge strech though, but i think both of them represent an idealized "blonde girl next door" americana). Both of them also managed to stay relevant throughout their respective decades. But thats where the similarities end.
Late 10s mumble rappers → late 00s ringtone rappers. (both were annoying as fuck, everyone made fun of them. And they all fell off as soon as the posterior decades started [2020s, 2010s])
Billie Eillish → Avril Lavigne. This one is also a huge stretch because Billie only became popular in the very ending of the 2010s, and also i think Billie is wayyy more authentic than Avril. But both them were edgy teenage emo brats.

I think Twenty One Pilots is the new Linkin Park in regards to their playing around with music genres coupled with their angsty lyrics. Some of their songs have been characterized as rap rock too.

I don't think it's fair to compare Britney and Gaga at all, maybe back in 2008-2011 that comparison would make sense, but now they're basically opposites Gaga fell off after 2011, Britney stayed popular throughout the 2000s. Britney only made pop music, even when she started flopping. Gaga ventured into many different genres after she started flopping (like Jazz, Artpop, rock, country and acoustic).

Drake is pretty much the Nickelback of rap. He’s incredibly generic and commercialized, very safe and clean image. I think a better comparison could be Usher, since he also makes melodic rap songs that generally have a safe and radio-friendly sound to them.

Side note, but to add on even further, the James Blunt of the 90s, without question, would be Michael Bolton. Which also means that Michael Bolton is pretty much the Ed Sheeran of the 90s.
