It is finally here guys.. a broken 2016 Imac, several reformats & a broken keyboard later... The one you have been waiting for.. The Mid 2020s early preview. Since this forecast is so far ahead not everything will be as accurate as my previous reports. This is really FAR ahead. For those who don't know I was the woman behind E! news prediction forecasts in the early 2010s. There is a TON of things to unpack and digest. Like I said..some people may not be ready to see this far in the future. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ! There is a ton to digest. I suggest microwaving some food and get a drink. Seriously... the question is are you ready to step into the future ? I hope you had as fun reading this as I had making it. Time to set the dial and blast to Spring 2023 to start this off...........................................................................................
It is a sunny 70 degrees in New Jersey in Spring 2023... the Covid fiasco ? Oh that is so 2020. With the world in a better place for the moment, going to events, movies, festivals, traveling ? oh it is all BACK BABY ! There will be a pep in peoples step so to speak. Optimism in the air. Smart couches and living room appliances seem to be all the rage now. What about that SMART bed ? Tim Cook and his Apple goons are working fast to put out the Apple car ! At this point Weed is almost legal in the MAJORITY of metropolitan areas. Solar installations are at an all time high right now. You yourself noticed solar panels creeping in ! DIGITAL HEALTH will also be a new thing.. That’s why one of the big new industries set to grow over the next two decades is subscription based, personal health management. Basically, you’ll digitally share all your health data with a medical service via an app or website. This service will then monitor your health 24/7 and alert you about impending health issues, remind you when to take your medications, offer early medical advice and prescriptions, facilitate a virtual doctor appointment, and even schedule a visit at a clinic or hospital when needed, and on your behalf. Something that is also going to rise and possibly even effect someone you know is the rise of the NeuroDiverse websphere. You are going to start to see more and more people you know "come out" it is going to be the next big thing thankfully ...........and yes companies will exploit this to make themselves look good.
Too many things to unpack guys... the TLDR version.. LAVENDER LAVENDER AND LAVENDER will be everywhere in 2023 and 2024, interiors, clothing, everything !!!!! There will also be bright colors coming back to compensate for the upbeat mood. 2000s PREP will be back as well, just think back to that time. By 2023 Scene will be back in a big way, it is going to be the NEXT BIG THING so look out for Scene girl fashion 2.0. Speaking of Lavender look out for Lavender fragrances, esp from PRADA the master of lavender/soapy fragrance DNA. It will be the next "cool" thing. Ski chic will also be blowing up around early 2024 ish. It is going to take a min but you WILL see it.
I know some of you have really been waiting for this one.......so lets cut to the chase shall we ?
TRAP METAL - TRAP's last breath
i.imgur.com/QKYHxog.jpg
Trap has already peaked but still has "some" life in it in spring 2023, but honestly after that..that is it, trap has no where to go. It is possible metal trap could blow up in early 2022 as there are some artists right now doing shows.
ELECTROPOP REVIVAL - JUST DANCE
With the pandemic over people are going to want to let loose, Electropop will be back, but not with a dated sound, it will have a twist for 2020s standards.
SCENE MUSIC - The return of late 2000s soundscapes
With the scene subculture already growing it is only natural you will hear Scenecore music comeback in all it's electro upbeat goodness. This will have a slow burn.
UNKNOWN RAP/MYSTERIOUS GENRE - ??
So I was in a small club a few days ago, there was this new genre of rap that is kind of like future bass that is uptempo it is hard to describe as I didn't record myself in the club but people were talking about it being "the next big thing" and it is not something that is already a genre, Future bass and like 80s dance music is the best way I can describe it. Not many artists are doing this now but I can see this blowing up super fast. It has the fastness of a New Order song that is kind of what I would describe it. It is something I never heard before. I really wish I had an example to post.

BTW, what are your predictions for hair? mostly the same as now, no more mid 2010s cuts they will be gone. Tons of people will have the late 2000s Scene look as the subculture will be back and morphed from the E-girl sub culture. Chunky Highlights from the 2000s will be back.

Great job! I hope this is the real mid-2020s and not the fake mid-2020s. I am sorry for annoying you about this. Based on your forecast, 2023 will begin the transition from early to mid-2020s culturally, or at best mid-2020s elements will start to creep in. 2023 might be the first full core 2020s year. I will safely say that 2023 will be the last full cultural early-2020s year and the last full year of late 2010s influences. We will enter the core 2020s and the transition to the mid-2020s will begin in spring 2024. The transition will go through summer 2024. I think by fall 2024, we will officially be in the mid-2020s culturally. 2024 will be one of those years where the start and end feels like different worlds, a reboot year. Fall 2024 will feel new. IMO: Early 2020s: Fall 2021-Winter 2023/2024 Quintessential Year: 2022 CORE 2020s Transition: Spring 2024-Summer 2024 Mid 2020s: Fall 2024-TBD Quintessential Year: TBD It is looking like it's going to be the real mid 2020s and skip any fake part like the mid 2000s. I mean we could get a "fake mid" but it's looking like we are going to skip it. I think Covid really screwed up the cycle speeds of things. The next election will tell if this "core" mindset will continue or not.

The next election will tell if this "core" mindset will continue or not. Yay! I hope this is the real mid 2020s because that seems exciting. I wonder when the Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and JT 2006 sound revival will happen with a 2020s flair. Late 2000s nostalgia will grow more during the mid 2020s, but people maybe more nostalgic for the mid 2000s. I will not be surprised if a crunk, snap or ringtone rap revival happens or the 20th anniversary of 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Trying," Nemo 2, Myspace, School of Rock, Cheaper by the Dozen, Facebook, Mean Girls, White Chicks, Napoleon Dynamite, Anchorman, Usher's "Confessions," and Green Day's "American Idiot" get celebrated. TikTok may most likely still be relevant in the mid 2020s, though I hope it dies by 2024, but that is wishful thinking. I noticed TikTok directing where music and fashion are heading. I bet the mid 2020s will be better than the early 2020s or take up any positive traits of the early 2020s up to a notch. If this is the real mid 2020s, then 2022 will be the last full year of late 2010s influences, before vanishing by spring 2023. 2023 will be a reboot year where the early and late parts scream different eras. Fall 2023 will feel new. I guess that will only be true if Biden wins again in 2024. If he loses, then I might consider 2023 and 2024 apart of early 2020s culture or at best transition years because these trends seem different from the 2021-2022 atmosphere thread you posted. Looks like the mid 2020s will be more futuristic and newer than now. So far the early 2020s seem like an extension of the late 2010s gaming and technology wise. I predict between 2023 to 2024, 9th generation gaming will be in full swing. 2024 has the same calendar as 1996. If this will be the real mid 2020s, then: Early 2020s: Fall 2021-Winter 2022/2023 Quintessential Year: 2022 CORE 2020s (All 2010s influences are obsolete.) Transition: Spring 2023-Summer 2023 Mid 2020s: Fall 2023-TBD

Does Rico Nasty's "rage" count as "trap metal"? Because if so, then i really want that sounds to blow up, it'd be a breath of fresh air.

It's def coming back, i see timbaland collabing with some big name like Ariana, Bruno Mars or the Weeknd and making a 2000s Nostalgia infused song.

It's way too soon to predict 2023/24, especially as volatile as things are right now.
I do hope electropop comes back though. I'm about sick of bedroom pop. Mumble rap is also getting old.

Mumble rap is also getting old. as for fashion it is not to early as seasons sometimes get previewed up to 1 1/2 year before the date, I hope so as well for Electropop. I heard some crazy tunes that sound promising !
