Here are some of mine~
~ The 80’s are overrated as a decade in everything but the music, I prefer the 90’s and even 00’s over 80’s
~ I love 00’s music
~ 2020 wasn’t the worst year in history
~ 2015 was still pretty boring as a year, so things didn’t suddenly go downhill in 2016.
~ I liked 2017 as a year
~ Everyone praises Early 2010’s music these days. While the Early 2010’s did have some good pop songs, there were also a lot of bad songs I didn’t like. I remember hating songs such as “The Lazy song” By Bruno Mars and “Payphone” By Maroon 5
~ The Late 00’s & Early 2010’s weren’t exactly alike and are different
~ Mid & Late 90’s > Early 90’s
That’s all I can think of for right now, but how about you?

I love the 2000s. The 1980s in some ways are overrated, The 1970s is my favorite decade of the 20th century. The 1990s was a underrated decade. The 2010s was a adventurous decade.

2008 and 2012 aren’t part of the same era. It really annoys me when people group these years together and it’s so common. The first half of 2008 was especially very different from 2012.

Every year of the 2000s and 2010s is overrated
The 1970s are underrated.
1972-1973 is the first year to have something in common with the early 80s.

- Late 00s > Early 00s
- I like the aesthetic of the 80s but it would be a horrible time for me to live in
- 90s fashion is the best and most timeless of the decades (idk if that’s unpopular)
- The 2010s > The 00s & the 90s
- I liked being a 00s kid but it wouldn’t be a great time as an adult
- 2010s movies were great for the most part
- The 70s is the worst decade of the late 20th century
- The 90s >>> The 80s
- 2010s music > 2000s music
- 80s pop music > 90s pop music
- 90s rock music > 60s rock music (both great though)
- 2008 was NOT part of the electropop era

I never understood the craze of Crocs in the 2000s...shoes with holes in them??? I don't get it. Also hated the circulation of the word "retard" or "retarded".

It also was kind of the start of the more watered down mid 2010s but it’s not like the earlier mid 10s were that much better 2010-2011 was better than 2011-2012 which is a bit more connected to later years.

* The early 2000s were a very polarizing time for music. If you weren't a fan of the angsty, "macho" nu-metal, preppy pop-punk, radio-friendly and "middle-of-the-road" post-grunge, or the very flamboyant bubblegum-pop that was on the charts, there really wasn't much else on offer. I actually believe they were a noticeable step-down in quality in comparison to the late '90s.
* The 1950s were a terrible decade for a huge variety of reasons, but they did have some redeeming qualities. The Looney Tunes theatrical shorts that were released during the decade would easily have to be one of the greatest cartoons of all time, and if you didn't come from a minority background, I get the impression that they would have been a decent decade to have been a kid in. Also, rock 'n roll's breakthrough into the mainstream must have felt really exciting at the time for the younger people of the day and I can understand why people got enjoyment out of listening to the songs.
* I don't really understand the appeal of the '80s. I mean, I can understand the groundbreaking significance of MTV and why people who were old enough at the time may have nostalgia for them, but they don't really strike me as having been that great of a decade to live through. Especially the late '80s.
* I have a soft spot for 2008 and I actually like a lot of the songs that were released that year.

I agree with the early 2000s except that 2002-2004 had some genuine goth and glam influenced mainstream rock, post punk revival, alternative and stuff that didn’t fit a mold that had some quality, for example I can’t imagine a HIM, clutch, turbonegro or cradle of filth video from 2002 released on mtv and almost indistinguishable from something released in the late 90s any time after the early 2000s and maybe the very beginning of the mid. A few typical nu metal and punk stuff was decent almost identical to something released in 1998-2000, even if a lot of the original bands sold out or went full on cookie cutter by then. The non mainstream culture in the 80s, the early 80s and 1988-1989 are the most interesting part of the 80s despite the iconic stuff in the middle.

The 90s were better than the 80s.
2008 is not part of the electropop era.
60s music is more interesting than the 70s.
The 2010s had better fashion than 00s.

I still don't know why people think 2008 was part of the Electropop era.
Sure, Lady Gaga released "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" in 2008, but they didn't chart until 2009 and that's what influenced all the other Electropoppers. And Katy Perry's stuff was pop rock in 2008.
Not to mention, the highest charting song of 2008, LOW by Flo Rida, SCREAMS 2000s at the top of its lungs.

Gaga went on MTV TRL in August 2008 as well & other media interviews, she was everywhere. It's not just that Electropop was already brewing before she hit the scene, there were more electropop songs out. Yes it did blow up even more in 2009 (that is when everyone was cut pasting the formula ) but there were plenty of electropop songs in 2008. Electropop and Dance pop kind of blurred the lines during this time. You also had Britney's Black Out album from 2007 & Circus in 2008 leading some trends as well. & yes this is listed as electro pop on Wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_I_Grow_Up_(The_Pussycat_Dolls_song)I can tell you these videos were in HEAVY rotation on MTV & Vh1 in the morning. I can also say these songs were on the radio 24/7.

2008 and 2012 aren’t part of the same era. It really annoys me when people group these years together and it’s so common. The first half of 2008 was especially very different from 2012. Even worse is when people say 2007-2013, especially when 2007 was quite different from 2013. There even was still Mid 00’s influence in 2007 I would say, just because electronic pop started to make a presence in the Late 00’s doesn’t make it all apart of the same era when they still felt different even as a kid. I remember still seeing things like baggy clothing during the Late 00’s, even though people like to say that’s when skinny jeans completely took over. They may have been gaining more popularity then, but in the Early 2010’s it was rare to find anyone in baggy clothes. I also remember still seeing spiky hair in 2007-2008, and even though I would say electronic pop around 2008 is when you started to see glimpses of the Early 2010’s coming up there still seemed to be a variety of music during the Late 00’s. Compare this to the Early 2010’s where it just exclusively seemed to be electronic pop, rock music was still quite popular in the Late 00’s.
